NORCROSS, Ga. – At this year’s NACE Nov. 5-8 in Las Vegas, AkzoNobel commemorates the 10th year of the Most Influential Women in the Collision Repair Industry awards program, which has honored women for leadership, vision and commitment to excellence since 1999.
“Ten years ago, we set out to recognize the achievements of a special group of leaders working in a traditionally male-oriented industry, “says Tim Loden, director of marketing for AkzoNobel Car Refinishes Americas. The program has grown from an idea to an institution. Its success reflects the growing influence of women in the collision repair workplace.” Loden continues, “In addition, we wanted this to be a sustainable program. We have invested in excess of a million dollars to support this endeavor. And most importantly, the ensuing scholarship funds not only touch current contributors, but reach out to future generations.”
Since the awards program began, 65 women have been recognized. They represent all aspects of the industry including collision repair shop owners, managers and suppliers, as well as women who hold positions with associations, government, insurance companies, publications and more.
The honorees for 2008 will be introduced at a special by-invitation-only program on Nov. 6 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.
