SMYRNA, Del. — The Database Enhancement Gateway (DEG) is seeking candidates interested in providing administrative services. This news follows yesterday’s announcement that current contractor, Aaron Schulenburg, accepted a new position as the executive director of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists. The DEG is a joint initiative developed by the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers (AASP), the Automotive Service Association (ASA) and the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) to provide collision estimating system end‐users with a standardized process to provide feedback to the information providers (IPs) in an effort to promote collision estimating data accuracy. The DEG administrator will be required to provide services during regular business hours as well as have a thorough familiarity with all three primary estimating platforms. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their resumes or company overviews to admin@degweb.org on or before the deadline of Jan. 12, 2008. A brief job description of the administrator position is on the DEG Web site at http://degweb.org/News_and_Updates.html. DEG enables those who use collision repair estimating databases to provide feedback in a standardized format to the IPs in an effort to promote data accuracy. DEG resources include a Web site and inquiry form, dedicated administration for the processing of inquiries, and a current database of both pending and resolved data inquiries submitted to the three major IPs. The DEG was created, initially funded and is maintained by ASA, AASP and SCRS. Additional funding for the DEG is provided through sponsorships.
