Roth & Miller Autobody, a Portland-based second-generation body shop, recently joined Fix Auto Collision. The shop, which is now called Fix Auto Portland East (and is still operated by Roth & Miller management), is the sixth Oregon-based body shop to join the Fix Auto network as a fully branded member.

Founded in 1946, the Eber family purchased Roth & Miller Autobody in 1963. Owner, Camille Eber purchased her family’s business in Portland, Ore., in 1989 – just three years after beginning work there. Under her leadership, the shop has grown to now have 11 employees and $1.4 million in annual sales. Additionally, the repair facility has been named "Shop of the Year" by two different regional organizations, and has received the "Business Integrity Award" from the Better Business Bureau of Oregon and SW Washington.

Eber, a long-time columnist for ABRN, says her motivation in making the switch to Fix Auto, and that of her operations manager (and nephew), William Bray was to be a part of something larger that would be a conduit for information, pooled marketing and improved performance.

“We like that Fix Auto is a progressive group of independent shop owners that work together to provide a customer repair experience that is better, smoother, quicker and more cost-effective,” Eber says.

With over 250 locations and growing, the performance-based network of repair facilities provides its members a variety of tools to help measure and monitor customer satisfaction, with the overall goal to provide the best possible customer experience.

The Fix Auto network also provides customers with a lifetime warranty, honored at any of the locations throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. For a local owner like Eber, this means she can assure a customer that if they move away, they will be able to find a repair facility that provides the same level of customer care that she does.

The Oregon Fix Auto network includes five facilities in the Portland metropolitan area, and one location in The Dalles. Being part of the local network provides Eber and other Fix Auto owners the opportunity to share best business practices within their local network.

The group also participates in a variety of community-outreach programs. Just recently the local network donated a refurbished car to a Doernbecher family as part of Recycled Rides, a national non-profit program in which repair facilities throughout the United States repair and donate vehicles to families and service organizations in need. The six Oregon locations are also serving as drop-off sites for Legacy Health’s car safety seat recycling program.

“I did a lot of research before joining Fix Auto,” Eber adds. “I wanted to make sure that in making the change, we would still remain the business our customers have grown to know and trust. We are still a family business invested in their community; the only difference is that now we have a much bigger support system. We’re excited about the benefits the Fix Auto network brings to our business.”
